max payne 3 is the worst max payne game because it attempts to depict his addiction to painkillers and alcohol without reference to his previously illustrated superhuman ability to power through withdrawal even in times of great personal strife
even years later, in max payne 2, max craves a smoke but never wavers. it’s bad for the baby.
